Joseph Alenchery, SVP & Business Head, Energy Next, Infosys:
My mind races back to many years. Unlike Dash's 30 years and Dinesh's 35, I'm kind of a baby at Infosys. I just completed 23 years. I came to Houston in 2005 to be part of the energy practice, actually to start a relationship with one of the oil field service companies. And it's been a great ride ever since. Myself, Sriram, Arun over there, Dr. Arun, Rama, David, we've all been part of this journey. When I started in the energy practice, we were a few million dollars with a few oil bill services companies, several clients. And then we've developed ever since. Our journey in the last five years is something that the world has taken notice of. Today, we are the world's second largest energy practice on planet Earth, only behind Accenture. And we have, from being a smaller practice, focused on a bunch of field services companies and one small energy major at that time. Today we boast of literally a roster of big energy majors from Woodside in Australia to Exxon Mobil to Chevron right here in Houston to we've crossed the borders to France TotalEnergies to Netherlands Shell to BP in London. And of course, recently, we've started our relationships in Norway with Arca Solutions. We’ve even crossed the Arabian borders, the Arabian sands. We have started relations with Saudi Aramco. ADNOC is a client of ours. We had a big partner at PDO in Oman, which is the largest oil and gas company in Oman. So in the last three to four to five years, what we have done has been accelerating. In fact, we have crossed the final frontier. We have started in Africa. We are the digital partner for Africa's NUPRC, which is their upstream regulatory commission. And we are digitizing African oil industry. And we are today talking about moving, and right now talking about moving into Angola. So it's been a great, great ride for us. But when we huddle as an energy leadership team, we believe to be number one, to take us to that dream spot that we have been dreaming for so many years, we've got to do something different. We've got to acquire a strength that we didn't have before. And that's really when we first thought of MRE Consulting. We were looking at many firms and we narrowed down on MRE Consulting. We believed in the brand. We believed in the people. We believed in what you guys are doing for your clients because we heard from our clients and they believed in you. And we wanted you guys be part of us. And we believe that with this one weapon that we have, with this one merger, with this one partnership, we've closed that one white space we had, which was energy and commodity and ECTRM area, where we did not have strengths, we did not have presence. And I have complete conviction. And my team will stand with me to say that together we are going to be the world's largest energy practice. And that time is set to come. So I want to thank the leadership team from MRE Consulting for agreeing to this merger, this marriage. I want to thank Dinesh and Dash for coming all the way here. It's been inspiring to hear your journeys throughout. I want to thank my colleagues who helped organize this, my friends from marketing, Anchal, Sonam and everyone else. I know many people from MRE helped including Jennifer from there. But most importantly, I want to thank all of you. I want to thank you for agreeing to be with us in this journey together and probably fulfill our dreams in the near future. So I want to, in fact, I also want to thank my friend Kiran because when Kiran heard about this merger of MRE Consulting and Infosys, he literally packed his bags and flew all the way from India to relocate to Houston. And for the next few years, his only job is going to support you guys to grow. So Kiran from the client services team. Now, Kiran was really excited. Till he met with Drew, of course. But Kiran, I assure you, it's not that bad. It's going to get better. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I live in Cypress, by the way. I live in a suburb of Houston called Cypress. And there we often use this term to say that for everything under the heavens, there's a time, a time to be born, a time to die. And I would say a time to merge and a time to fly. And this is the time for us to fly together. So thank you, and I'll see you at dinner.
