Becoming The Innovation

Kenneth Probeck Kenneth is an Experience Designer who is a part of our team at Providence.

Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for creating and sharing joy with others. Whether that be surprising them with a gift, planning a special day for them, or creating an experience that they would never forget, it has always been a goal of mine to put a smile on the faces of others. I took that into my college years, focusing on a major in Game Design and Development. I was able to hone my skills in creating everlasting memories for others, while also continuing to be my nerdy self in every way possible. What better way to combine my two passions?

Over the course of my time at Rochester Institute of Technology, I found that my strong suit in game development was, and still is, UI/UX design. Making sure that the player feels comfortable with what they were doing, that they were well knowledged about the information given to them about the game, and that it was in a clean, cohesive format for them to take in this information: this is my specialty. I decided to take this expertise not only into the game industry with my job applications, but Experience-driven positions everywhere. That’s how I came across Infosys.

Being hired into a job right out of college is almost unheard of in this day and age. I remember telling a colleague of mine about being accepted at Infosys, only to hear the reply, “Wait, HOW old are you?!” For context, I was only 21 at the time. Being accepted here made my dedication to my work and my drive as a UI/UX designer worth it, knowing that someone at Infosys recognized this talent and that I was chosen to bring that to the world.

The first four weeks of employment were met with a “complexity lab” partnership with RISD, where all new hires in our cohort were able to collaborate and hone our design skills even further. Our cohort was even greeted with Infosys employees from Mysore, India, where they would take this training back home and provide this design course to others. The cultural experience we got to share with one another was something I found very unique to Infosys, and something I will cherish working here.

I have only been with Infosys for a short while, but in my time here, I recognize that the people I’ve been hired alongside and I will pave a new road in innovation. We come from a variety of backgrounds, each bringing a distinctive skill set to the table. This allows us to create experiences like no other company can provide, ones with rich insight and multi-disciplinary interaction.
