2023 Global Cloud Ecosystem Report

MIT Tech Review Insights, in partnership with Infosys Cobalt has launched our ’Global Cloud Ecosystem 2023’ report.The report studies cloud investments and how they are becoming a mainstay for technology development and operational efficiency. MIT Tech Review Insights surveyed 400 leaders across 12 industry sectors representing 4 regions, North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The report indicates that there are two stages of cloud maturity globally: one where firms adopt cloud to achieve essential opex and capex cost reduction, and a second where firms link cloud investments to a positive business value. Respondents indicate the two are converging quickly.

Key highlights from the report are:

Two-thirds of global executive’s report cloud has returned positive ROI over last two years.

54% of organizations using cloud for ESG compliance to drive sustainability, significant room for improvement in leveraging cloud to address scope 1, scope 2, and scope 3 carbon emissions.

86% of the global respondents reported that they have zero-trust data access policies for cloud-based resources.

79% of the organizations report that cloud investments have boosted innovation.
