Infosys's approach to building the AI-ready enterprise and unlocking AI value

The keynote sets out Infosys's approach to building an AI-ready enterprise and unlocking value from AI, using the Refresh, Renew, Reimagine framework as the practical path forward for Japanese enterprises. Early insights from the Digital Cliff Index Japan, a study conducted with Nikkei Research surveying 500 executives across C-suite, division head, and department head levels, are used to illustrate where Japanese enterprises stand today and why this approach matters.

Key question: What must we modernize and preserve?

AI is now central to modernization itself, not just its eventual outcome. This panel examines how AI-assisted tools — from automated code conversion to AI-powered reverse engineering — are accelerating legacy transformation, and how organizations are using AI to capture and preserve the tacit institutional knowledge held by experienced employees before they retire. The discussion stays anchored to one question: what has to be modernized, and what has to be deliberately preserved, before an enterprise can move forward with AI at scale?

Key question: What foundations are needed to scale AI securely?

Scaling AI safely depends on foundations most organizations underestimate: clean, governed data; AI-ready cloud platforms; and security and governance built in from the start rather than retrofitted. This panel explores what “AI-ready infrastructure” actually requires in a Japanese regulatory context, and why data foundations and governance are frequently among the principal barriers to scaling AI.

Centerpiece keynote of the event

An independent perspective arguing that Japan's traditional strengths — institutional trust, manufacturing discipline, and long-term thinking — are underused assets in the AI era rather than legacy baggage. It covers global AI adoption trends, Japan's evolving competitive position relative to global peers, the governance frameworks taking shape under Japan's AI Promotion Act, and, most concretely, what leaders need to do in the next 24 months to convert these advantages into results.

Key question: How do organizations create measurable business value from AI?

The final panel moves past adoption and pilots to a critical question for enterprise leaders: how is AI delivering measurable business and financial value? Panelists discuss agentic AI in production, enterprise-wide (not departmental) adoption patterns, and how leading organizations are measuring and realizing business value — turning the day's earlier themes of modernized foundations and secure scaling into demonstrated ROI.
