Infosys Foundation inaugurates new OT block at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, announced that it has completed the construction of a new operation theater block with five major world class operation theatres at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, Karnataka. As part of the INR 11 crores project, the Foundation has also provided necessary OT equipment to the Institute.

The new project was inaugurated by Shri. H. D. Kumaraswamy, Honorable Chief Minister, Govt. of Karnataka in the presence of Mrs. Sudha Murty, Chairperson, Infosys Foundation. The function was also attended by Shri E. Thukaram, Honorable Minister for Medical Education, Govt. of Karnataka & Chairman, Governing Council, KMIO, Shri Shivanand S. Patil, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka, Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Director of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Smt. Gangambike Mallikarjuna, Mayor, BBMP, Mr. Rakesh Singh, Principal Secretary to Government of Karnataka, Health and Family Welfare Dept. (Medical Education), and Dr. C Ramachandra, Director, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru.

Infosys Foundation has been closely involved with the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology since 2001 and has worked on a number of projects. In addition to constructing dharamshalas in Kalaburagi and Hubli, the Foundation has also constructed an operation theatre complex for the Institute in Bengaluru.
