Infosys Foundation USA Awards $250,000 Grant to NACCE to Advance Digital Workforce Innovation Program

Infosys Foundation USA recently announced the winners of the Digital Workforce Innovation Program, in collaboration with the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) and MakerUSA at NACCE’s Annual Conference.

The six selected higher education institutions – a combination of community colleges, four-year universities, and HBCUs - will receive funds to further advance workforce readiness programs that equip students and adults with the digital skills, a maker mindset and an entrepreneurial approach to solving real world problems within the tech-driven economy.

The awardees are:

• Coppin State University (MD)
• Foothill College (CA)
• GateWay Community College (AZ)
• Houston City College (TX)
• Ivy Tech Community College (IN)
• North Iowa Area Community College (IA)

NACCE, the leading voice in community college entrepreneurship education, played a central role in the competitive selection process. Criteria included institutional readiness, sustainability plans, responsiveness to workforce needs and measurable outcome frameworks.

Over the next 18 months, the awardees will benefit from funding, technical assistance, one-on-one coaching, regular meetings as a cohort, mentorship, student-led data analysis and peer learning. Each academic institution will also leverage Infosys Springboard, the Foundation’s flagship digital learning platform, to deepen capacity and gain access to a library of 11,000+ interactive learning modules spanning AI, cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, professional skills and more.

A key component of the Digital Workforce Innovation Program also includes access to SkillPointe, NACCE’s online career exploration technology, which provides comprehensive resources on skilled trades—from required training and scholarships to salary expectations and career outlooks. By integrating SkillPointe with Infosys Springboard, students of all ages and backgrounds will gain exposure to professional pathways from training to career readiness.

MakerUSA, a strategic contributor to the initiative, will provide consulting and technical assistance to the institutions and connect them with its national network of 40+ leading institutions focused on inclusive maker education. This collaboration ensures alignment with local and regional labor market needs while amplifying innovative approaches to workforce development.

This program, which aims to reach over 3,000 students throughout two years, will support the sustainable delivery of key workforce readiness pathways that position students to participate in STEM careers across a wide range of industries, and enable them to seize timely opportunities in the age of AI.
