CSX Data Modernization with Infosys & Microsoft Fabric

The milestone

CSX Transportation has gone live on Microsoft Fabric-reducing ~50,000 legacy reports to 1,200 focused, business ready reports. This consolidation improves access to insights, reduces maintenance, and sets a strong foundation for AI driven consumption.

How it happened

Infosys’ Fabric Migration Factory Tools helped accelerate report rationalization and migration, bringing structure, speed, and governance to the transformation journey.

What’s next

With Fabric now live, CSX is preparing for their next phase: an AI‑ready semantic layer that shifts the enterprise from static reports to Copilot‑driven, natural‑language insights. Over the coming year, seven legacy tools will be decommissioned as CSX continues to unify its data estate on Fabric.

Quote

Once Infosys brought the Fabric Migration Factory Tools, our journey accelerated. We are now decommissioning legacy tools and building the semantic layer to enable Copilot driven insights for our business.
