Event Overview
JISC has funded four projects to investigate an enterprise architecture (EA) approach to service-oriented development at the institutional level through the application and evaluation of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).

The initiative is a part of the e-Learning Capital Program, and builds on the program’s e-Framework aspects. As it has been recognized that Enterprise Architecture has wider application than e-Learning, this program addresses institutional architecture rather than just e-Learning.

Session Details

Session description
The session helps you identify the relevant parts of TOGAF and navigate through voluminous documentation. It addresses questions such as:

  • Where do we start?
  • Is a top-down approach to EA the best one?
  • Or is it better to dive straight into the details and build the EA upwards?
  • How do you customize and extend TOGAF to meet your requirements?
  • What are the challenges and learning from the speaker’s personal experience of using TOGAF?
