Event overview

The annual Workshop on Advances in Model-Based Software Engineering (WAMBSE) provides a forum for discussions on theoretical and practical aspects of model-based software engineering, exchanging research ideas and challenges, and exploring possible solutions and future directions. The main goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry.

Authors are invited to submit original, high-quality research papers on the following (but not limited to) topics of interest:

  • Domain-specific modeling
  • Executable models and tool support
  • Extracting models from software artifacts (e.g., program understanding)
  • Formal specification and verification of models
  • Industrial case studies and reports
  • Integration of different models
  • Knowledge and semantic-preserving transformations between models and meta-models
  • Model evolution and maintenance
  • Model management, model refinement, and model transformation and re-engineering
  • Model-based analysis
  • Model-based approach to COTS systems, SOA-based systems, and cloud computing
  • Model-based assurance of extra-functional requirements
  • Model-based evolution of software systems
  • Model-based testing, verification and validation
  • Modeling languages
  • Models and automatic code generation techniques, product line architecture, and value-based SE
  • Models composition
  • Tool support
  • Traceability between models at various levels of abstractions
  • Use of models for downstream activities (e.g., generating test cases, using models at runtime)
  • Use of models in advanced technologies

Submission of papers

Research papers
Papers must be written in a scientifically rigorous manner with adequate references to related work. Submitted papers must not be previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere, and must not be simultaneously submitted in an extended or shortened form to other journals or conferences. Authors must adhere to all submission procedures of the ISEC 2013.

Experience reports
We also encourage people to submit the experience reports on usage of models in the larger context of software engineering activities. Experience reports can be submitted in any format and no restriction on the length.

The selected papers will be published in Infosys Labs Briefings, an in-house journal of Infosys Labs, and will also be indexed.
