Session 1

Dynamic Authentication: Need than a Choice
Speakers: Dr. Ashutosh Saxena,
Principal Researcher, Infosys Technologies
Date: Monday, January 7, 2008
Time: 14:30 IST
Venue: The Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore, India

An increasing number of security vulnerabilities exploiting the weaknesses of static password-based authentication methods are being reported. Such events cause significant financial loss and dilution of brand equity. It highlights the fact that traditional static password-based authentication solutions do not offer an adequate protection mechanism for major enterprise applications. Enterprises should explore more robust, secure, multi-factor and dynamic one-time password-based authentication technologies for their IT infrastructure. In this session, Infosys' expert discusses various authentication schemes, their pros and cons and presents an implemented two-factor dynamic one-time password scheme using a mobile device.

Session 2

Realizing Unified Service Experience with SaaS on SOA

Speakers: Jithesh Sathyan, Senior Technical Specialist, Infosys Technologies
Krishnananda Shenoy, Principal Technical Architect, Infosys Technologies
Date: Tuesday, January 8, 2008
Time: 12:00 IST
Venue: The Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore, India

IP-based access technologies core network convergence with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) has led to an explosion in multimedia content delivery across packet networks. This transition has led to a richer, customer-oriented service experience. A service provider who offers more services has an edge over competitors.

The session provides a novel method by which customers can search for services across multiple service providers. The customer can enjoy services that are not provided by the application servers from his subscribed service provider. Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) used in service lifecycle management and Software as a Service (SaaS) methodologies address the business critical issues in making this service assembly possible

Session 3

mConnect: A Context-Aware Mobile Transaction Middleware

Speakers: Karthik G.V., Senior Technical Specialist, Infosys Technologies and others
Date: Tuesday, January 8, 2008
Time: 13:45 IST
Venue: The Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore, India

The current state of ubiquitous mobility comes with numerous challenges like the need to support a wide range of devices with differences in the underlying platforms, browser support, available screen real estate, input mechanisms, connectivity and the context of the user. Typically, application content has to be adapted according to the form factor, size of the devices in use and context of the user. As the heterogeneity of target mobile devices is increasing day by day, adapting the content for devices is a daunting task. Also, the content has to be adapted to the appropriate format (for example html, cHtml, wml, etc.) supported by the device. Infosys mConnect is a mobile middleware platform which handles this diversity in an efficient manner by providing a context-agnostic view to the back-end transaction servers.
