Responsible AI Programs
Responsible AI Governance and Management
At Infosys, we are committed to developing, deploying, and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly. Our Responsible AI program is designed to ensure that AI systems are developed and operated in a manner that is ethical, transparent, secure, inclusive, and aligned with human rights, regulatory requirements, and societal expectations.
Our Responsible AI framework is supported by governance, risk management, technical controls, employee capability building, and continuous monitoring mechanisms that promote the trustworthy use of AI across our operations, solutions, and client engagements.
Key Elements of the Responsible AI Program
Access Controls for Sensitive AI Capabilities
Infosys applies risk-based governance and access management controls for AI systems that involve sensitive capabilities or higher-risk use cases. Access to such capabilities is restricted to authorized personnel and subject to additional review, monitoring, and approval processes to mitigate potential misuse.
Transparency and Disclosure
Where appropriate, Infosys promotes transparency in AI deployment by supporting the identification, labeling of AI-generated content, and communicating the role of AI in decision-support processes. We seek to ensure that affected stakeholders have visibility into the use of AI technologies and the extent of human oversight applied.
Model Monitoring and Performance Management
Infosys implements continuous monitoring mechanisms to assess the performance, reliability, and effectiveness of AI models throughout their lifecycle. Processes are established to detect, investigate, and remediate model drift, degradation, vulnerabilities, or unintended outcomes, thereby supporting ongoing model integrity.
Fairness and Bias Assessments
AI systems are subject to periodic assessments and testing to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential bias, discrimination, or unfair outcomes. These reviews form part of our broader Responsible AI governance framework and seek to promote equitable and inclusive AI outcomes.
Reducing the Environmental Impact of AI
Infosys is committed to improving the sustainability of digital and AI technologies through energy-efficiency initiatives, responsible infrastructure management, optimization of computing resources, and collaboration with technology partners and suppliers. We continuously evaluate opportunities to reduce the environmental footprint associated with AI development and deployment.
Appeals and Escalation Mechanisms
Infosys maintains processes through which employees, clients, users, and other stakeholders can raise concerns regarding AI-related outcomes, risks, or impacts. Such concerns may be reviewed through established governance, ethics, compliance, grievance, or escalation channels, enabling investigation and corrective actions where appropriate.
Measuring Sustainability Impact
Infosys seeks to evaluate and quantify the contribution of AI-enabled solutions toward environmental, social, and business sustainability outcomes. Where feasible, indicators and metrics are used to assess benefits such as resource efficiency, emissions reduction, operational optimization, and broader sustainability improvements.
Training and Awareness
Infosys provides training, guidance, and awareness programs to employees on the responsible, ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies. These programs reinforce principles related to fairness, privacy, security, transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Independent Verification and Certification
Infosys has established an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) that incorporates governance, risk management, operational controls, and continuous improvement mechanisms for AI. The management system is independently assessed and certified against ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, demonstrating our commitment to responsible and trustworthy AI practices.
Our Commitment
Infosys will continue to strengthen its Responsible AI practices through robust governance, stakeholder engagement, ongoing monitoring, employee capability building, and alignment with emerging global standards and regulations. We believe that responsible innovation is fundamental to realizing the benefits of AI while safeguarding individuals, organizations, and society.
