Infosys Bank Tech Index Volume 6: Capital Markets Institutions
Capital markets institutions are under pressure to move faster as opportunity windows narrow, client expectations rise, and new asset classes reshape the competitive landscape. Capital markets insights drawn from the research conducted for the Infosys Bank Tech Index – Volume 6 show that nearly one in five institutions ranks faster product launches across new asset classes or geographies as its top technology priority. But rising legacy platform costs, integration challenges across trading, risk, and settlement, and fragmented data continue to constrain execution. Institutions are responding by modernizing core platforms, moving trading and investment systems toward cloud-native architectures, and applying AI across trading, operations, compliance, research, and client-facing functions. Nearly 80% are piloting or expanding AI, while 58% of deployed initiatives already generate measurable business value. Blockchain and stablecoins are also gaining attention as institutions explore more efficient and accessible market models. The opportunity is significant, but realizing it will depend on modern infrastructure, trusted data, stronger controls, and disciplined execution.
