Infosys hosts a joint session with SAP to discuss opportunities to improve the effectiveness of new product launches and promotions compliance. Session Overview
The growth and diversification of retail channels, each offering shoppers a unique proposition, is forcing CPG companies to:

  • try and win opportunistic shoppers
  • fight to retain brand loyal customers

With significant investments made in conceptualizing, developing and implementing new product launch plans, the brand launch team needs to ensure synchronized execution at channel and store levels to enable success. A small misstep in execution can wipe out the growth potential of a sound brand strategy.

As Wal-Mart has embraced EPC-RFID to track product flow through its network and provide product movement data at the store level, retailers are increasingly showing their willingness to share granular information in a timely manner. Infosys has developed a solution, leveraging the SAP platform, which embraces all retail data streams (POS, IRI/Nielsen, RFID, Shipment) and organizes these into lead and lag indicators. This provides a single version of a 'Product Launch Dashboard' and delivers real-time accurate data to the entire brand launch team.


Speaker Profile

Kishor Gummaraju is a Senior Principal at Infosys Technologies with over 13 years of experience in CPG/Retail and Distribution. Prior to joining Infosys, he was an operational supply chain manager with Unilever for procurement and supply chain activities for the chemicals and fertilizer business. Kishor has presented papers at several international forums including Food Sim 2002 and CXO Summit 2002 and Retail Systems Conference 2004. He also co-authored a paper on "Creating and Executing Successful Audit Capabilities with New Technology Tools" for the 2003 NRF conference on Loss Prevention and Internal Audit.

Eric Domski is the Global RFID Solution Director at SAP Labs. Eric Domski is responsible for envisioning and delivering RFID solutions that address vertical industry requirements, drive value for businesses, and advance SAP's position at the forefront of providers of RFID applications. Since joining SAP in 1996, Eric has held many leadership positions, most recently as Director of Consumer Products for SAP America, Inc., where his responsibilities include advising customers on SAP's Consumer Products industry solutions, coordinating SAP, partner, industry and solution resources, and providing direction on all go-to-market programs. Prior to joining SAP, Eric spent six years in the supply chain software industry, holding various sales, presales and consulting positions.
