Infosys Foundation Builds Dharamshala for Kidwai Cancer Institute

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kidwai Cancer Institute. Under the provisions of the MoU, the Foundation has constructed a dharamshala in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. The dharamshala will be used to accommodate cancer patients and their attendants not only from Kalaburagi, but also from adjacent districts of Karnataka such as Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur and Bellary.

The Infosys Foundation has worked closely with the Kidwai Cancer Institute since 2001 on a number of projects. Previously, the Foundation helped construct dharamshalas in Chandigarh, Bengaluru and Hubli that have a combined capacity of over 1000 patients. Apart from dharamshalas, it has also funded the construction of an operation theatre complex at Kidwai Cancer Institute in Bengaluru, the construction of a pediatric hospital in Odisha, a hospital block in Maharashtra, medical wards and pathology labs in Karnataka, procurement of medical equipment for hospitals in Arunachal Pradesh and Karnataka, among other initiatives.
