The client, a global semiconductor manufacturer with offices in Singapore, Germany, and USA, wanted to accelerate application software development and delivery with low-code adoption. The requirement was for a common platform and framework for custom/home-grown applications and enablement of citizen development at scale.
Infosys led the product evaluation, product selection, negotiations, licensing, and procurement of a leading low-code/no-code platform for the client. We set up a low-code center of excellence (CoE) and built low-code applications for the client. As part of the CoE, Infosys helped define and develop the architecture blueprint, technical solutions, application design and development, reviews, testing, and production go-lives while ensuring that the right governance is followed.
Key Challenges
The challenges faced by client included:
- Increased dependency on Salesforce licenses with high license costs
- Extended time-to-market with increased effort and cost for application development
- Multiple technology stacks and lack of multi-skilled resources
- Lack of governance in application development
- Need for cloud-enablement

Adopting a leading low-code/no-code platform led to 5 times faster development of applications, resulting in reduced turnaround time and quick deliveries.
Infosys built a low-code CoE for the client and defined best practices and guidelines for low-code application development. We helped define the right governance structure and strategy for successful low-code adoption in the client organization.
The low-code CoE created a modern marketplace consisting of starter kits, components, templates, and connectors to accelerate application development. Setting up a private marketplace helped scale up citizen development and reduce dependency on IT developers.
The CoE provides the gating criteria for low-code fitment for all client applications, application upgrades, and PoCs for new features. Further, it provides the technical competency and required technical support to all low-code development teams and citizen developers.
Infosys also helped the client set up private cloud infrastructure for deploying regulated low-code applications that cannot be hosted on a public cloud.
