Session details

Title: Transform QA to stay ahead of digital disruption
Date: October 29, 2018
Time: 4:00pm – 4:45pm
Venue: Salon F & B, Copley Marriott, Boston
Speaker: Bharathi Rao, Associate Vice President and Group Practice Engagement Manager, Infosys

The business landscape is seeing unprecedented levels of change owing to disruptive technologies, evolution of cloud platforms, stringent regulations, and unrelenting customer demand for innovative products and excellent service delivery. To meet these evolving needs, enterprises must ensure that their business applications are available, safe, and reliable to sustain their key success lever – software quality. Thus, amid rapid digital disruption, quality assurance (QA) must reinvent itself. This might be challenging for most companies because QA systems do not operate in silos. QA transformation initiatives should be flexible enough to be consumed by new digital systems as well as legacy ones, while replacing traditional testing approaches with agile and DevOps.

In this session, we examine the changes driving QA transformation and how emerging technologies can increase value. For instance, QA should leverage predictive analytics, smart automation and artificial intelligence to upgrade capabilities. Moreover, it should support change management in human resources as new roles and skillsets emerge within QA teams. Thus, to derive maximum benefit, QA should transform from being a mere validator of function and performance to a provider of business assurance and customer experience. This will help companies correctly differentiate themselves in today’s digital marketplace.
