The housing society in which sowmyajit resided had 344 flats with about 2200 residents. During pandemic, availability of beds and oxygen was one of the key challenges faced by citizens. Sowmyajit came up with an idea of setting up an isolation center within the society premises itself. The isolation facility in the society has been set up with the help of contributions made by residents. They were able to setup an isolation center with 10 beds, medication needed for COVID and oxygen cylinders. While isolation center became operational, they have leveraged social media and print media platforms to spread awareness amongst other societies around which followed the path to set up their isolation centers as well.

The efforts have been lauded by local government and municipal authorities and was covered in the print media as well.
