Overview

Infosys Chemical Manufacturing implements artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) logistics solutions that connect procurement, sales, inventory planning, and production scheduling. We also integrate internal systems with third-party logistics services. Our approach empowers manufacturers of petrochemical intermediates and base / agriculture / specialty chemicals to capitalize on demand and supply dynamics while addressing the challenges of domestic and global trade. In addition, we automate handling, loading and unloading operations, which accelerates stuffing and destuffing of containers as well as drumming of liquid cargo.

Our multimodal logistics solutions address the needs of manufacturing, blending and repackaging sensitive as well as hazardous goods. Our AI / ML solutions recommend the optimal mode of transportation and propose routes based on operational, economic and sustainability factors such as shipment size, freight rate, holding cost, traffic congestion, weather, and number of transshipment points and distribution centers. Predictive analytics and data-driven decisions ensure that shipments of raw materials, operating supplies and finished products are delivered on time, at designated destinations, in peak condition, and at optimal cost.

Infosys partners with chemicals manufacturers to replace linear supply chains with an advanced closed loop system for smooth forward and reverse flow of materials. Such closed loop supply chain networks support reuse of packaging materials as well as plastic waste by allowing timely collection. Our digital solutions integrate chemical and mechanical technologies for recycling monomers and polymers, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) / low-density polyethylene (LDPE) bags, and polypropylene sheets. Significantly, our digital models help optimize logistics operations for waste recovery to meet the capacity requirements for displacing naphtha and fuel oil feedstocks.
