A leading US-based telecommunications provider faced rising costs and slower product launches due to a heavily customized Salesforce/Vlocity-based CPQ platform underpinning its Business Support Systems (BSS). The customized solution resulted in significant licensing and support expenses, limited reusability, vendor lock-in, and slow adoption of modern delivery practices. To regain control of its roadmap and accelerate innovation, the client chose to build an in-house CPQ solution using cloud-native microservices and an open-source technology stack.
Infosys partnered with the client to reimagine quote-to-order journeys, dramatically improving speed and simplicity for internal users and customers by implementing a greenfield CPQ solution. Multiple legacy portals were consolidated into a single, unified interface, improving usability and reducing operational complexity.
The legacy CPQ capabilities were migrated to a fully decoupled architecture, powered by over 40+ cloud-native microservices deployed on AWS. The transformation significantly reduced technical debt while enabling higher agility, scalability, and faster time to market—positioning the client with a future-ready BSS foundation aligned to modern telco demands.
Infosys launched new in-house solution in production within eight months of the start of the program.

Infosys implemented a cloud-native CPQ platform to replace the client’s heavily customized Salesforce/Vlocity solution. By eliminating third-party licensing and support dependencies, the new platform significantly reduced total cost of ownership while enabling greater architectural control.
The microservices-based solution was designed using a standards-aligned, open-source stack and deployed on AWS for scalability and high availability. A reusable architecture enabled rapid onboarding of new product categories and simplified enhancements across quote and order journeys. TMF-compliant APIs enabled seamless integration with downstream BSS and operational systems.
Infosys also supported data migration and validation to minimize disruption during transition. The result was a robust in-house CPQ platform that accelerates product releases, improves operational efficiency, and provides the client with long-term flexibility and self-sufficiency.
