Digital roadmap and change management for a global leader in synthetic diamond and supermaterials manufacturing
Situation
The client, a global leader in the design, development and production of synthetic diamond advanced materials, engaged Infosys Consulting to develop a five-year digital roadmap aimed at radically modernizing its five manufacturing plants and five key business functions (sales, marketing, operations, customer service and HR).
Among others, the client aimed to improve product yields, operational performance, sales effectiveness, employee satisfaction and retention, by making improvements across people, process, technology and data. Change management and user centred design were positioned at the heart of this approach.
Solution
- A service design approach (52+ design thinking workshops) was taken to work collaboratively (and in person) with stakeholders across 4 countries.
- 140+ level 1 business capabilities were assessed on their digital maturity (i.e. sales opportunity mgmt., CRM etc.).
- 170+ problem statements and 1700+ ideas were defined and validated.
- 31 projects were identified and defined for E6.
- Top horizon 1 priorities projects have been designed at a high level; scorecard, valuation, approach, costing, etc.
- 8 target state blueprints were developed to bring to life technical change across E6 and each of these had a storyboard to simplify.
