Multi-million and multi-location M&A program for a major pharmaceutical company

Situation

Our client is a major pharmaceutical company. To focus solely on their core business of innovative medicines, the customer decided to group generic and biosimilar products and spin it as separate listed company. Like most major separations, the first phase of this separation program was to set-up separate legal entities and get key IT systems ready for new company to be able to start functioning immediately after day-1.

Solution

  • This was multi-million and multi-location program with Infosys Consulting involving manufacturing, distribution and commercial entity separation executed over couple of years with more than 150 technical and consulting specialists involved.
  • Infosys Consulting played a critical role in strategy, management, design and execution planning of major activities which mainly involved setting up SAP instances and associated systems.
  • This was a one-of-kind collaboration between the consulting team, various development teams from across Infosys workstreams and client stakeholders to achieve the objective successfully.
  • As a result of this success, Infosys is now an integral part of upcoming phases and supporting the client across multiple areas that are essential to address before TSA ends. Infosys consultants are also involved across the M&A value chain in advisory and consulting capabilities along with execution and maintenance.
