The client is a US-based manufacturer of Ground Engaging Tools (GET) and attachments used for excavation, mining, and construction.
As part of their SAP S/4HANA journey, the client initiated a pilot program to undertake digital transformation by migrating from their 40-year-old custom-developed legacy system to SAP S/4HANA. They partnered with Infosys to help address data migration challenges in the pilot program.
With our strong credentials in SAP S/4HANA we carried out an in-depth analysis to evaluate the correct status of the program in terms of documentation, build, and data migration.
Delighted with our assessment, the client handed over the responsibility of the entire program to Infosys

SAP S/4HANA Digital transformation to replace a 40-year-old legacy ERP system
Infosys helped the client build the template for two plants in the US. The legacy system was to be completely replaced by SAP S/4HANA. This involved all business processes including sales and distribution, material management, warehouse management, production planning, production planning detailed scheduling (PPDS), quality management, finance, and controlling.
The on-premises SAP S/4HANA solution was also integrated with a non-SAP dealer portal via batch jobs and radio frequency (RF) guns for warehouse leveraging SAP Internet Transaction Server (SAP ITS).
Saved about 2.5 hours per day for the production scheduling team using the automated PPDS solution-
Reduced time for the finance team by scheduling multiple payments every day
Enabled easy customer clearing by introducing automatic clearing of lockbox file that involves minimal manual effort
Enabled easier SAP reports leveraging Fiori-based analytical applications
Created multiple versions of financial statements for SVM (internal reporting) and USGAAP (external)
Ensured faster month-end closing with SAP S/4HANA consolidations and periodic reports
Provided real time analytical reports for purchased parts to monitor delivery dates, pending approvals, and pending invoices
