For more than 16 years, Infosys has been a trusted technology partner to Ricoh Europe. At the heart of Ricoh Europe’s operations is a heavily customized Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) platform — the digital backbone that supports business, finance, supply chain and logistics across 24 operating companies and powers more than 80% of the organization’s business and customer processes. Together, Infosys, Ricoh Europe and Oracle set out to modernize that backbone and ready it for an AI-driven future.

The Challenge

Over time, the very platform that powered Ricoh Europe’s business had begun to constrain its ability to modernize. Years of deep customization had left the system embedded in nearly every process, and upgrading it was anything but straightforward. The transformation had to reach every operating company — each with its own local processes — and be delivered without disrupting day-to-day operations. Ricoh Europe needed a partner who understood both the technology and the business well enough to move at the pace the organization required.

Key Initiatives Delivered:

• Large-scale user migration: Over an 18-month program, the teams migrated more than 1,500 users onto a single, modern Oracle platform.
• Technical debt retirement: Years of accumulated customizations and technical debt were retired, simplifying and future-proofing the environment.
• Report consolidation: Around 200 reports were rationalized and consolidated onto one unified, modern platform.
• Disruption-free rollout across 24 operating companies: The upgrade was delivered across every operating company, respecting local processes while keeping daily operations running.
• Tri-party collaboration: By combining the institutional knowledge of Infosys, Ricoh Europe and Oracle, the teams delivered a secure, resilient upgrade at the pace the business needed.

The Results

Ricoh Europe now runs on a single, modern and secure Oracle platform — free of legacy technical debt and ready to scale. The upgrade has stabilized and streamlined operations across finance, supply chain and logistics, and has made Ricoh Europe AI-ready, laying the foundation for the next wave of innovation.
