Optimize cloud consumption with technical and financial strategies

Infosys undertook a survey on the state of cloud deployment among CPG companies. It revealed concerns of enterprises, which were highlighted in an article published in Digital CxO.

More than 50% of contracted cloud services remain unutilized due to challenges ranging from cybersecurity issues and bottlenecks in multi-cloud landscapes to the lack of cloud deployment expertise.

Technical optimization

An assessment of cloud usage patterns helps identify areas of underutilization. Enterprises should establish governance policies and implement best practices for cloud adoption, including defining roles and responsibilities, to optimize cloud usage.

Financial discipline

Budgeting and tracking of cloud spending are crucial for effective cost management. In addition, CPG enterprises need to create an awareness about the cost implications of cloud resources to ensure responsible consumption.

Prioritize revenue generation

The cloud footprint should be expanded across revenue generating services, such as digital commerce, customer relationship management, point-of-sale, customer engagement, and in-store systems.
